Community Service and Returns
People receive “Community Service Orders” (CS) in lieu of a prison sentence. Treo oversees the work undertaken during completion of CS hours in the community &/or here in Treo. Our approach to CS is based on repairing harm & restoring relationships within communities. We have established strong links within local community based organisations that facilitate CS placements. Communities are benefiting from hours being served and the people serving these hours are also learning how their offending has impacted on others, while availing of genuine opportunities to make reparations.
A “Community Return Order” occurs when a person completes part of his prison sentence in the community. Our Community Returns’ Supervisor liaises with our Outreach team and the Probation Service to discuss release plans of the person leaving prison. Each person serves these orders in a similar way to Community Service orders.
