Welcome To Treo Port Lairge

Welcome to the new website of Treo Port Lairge Ltd. We have refreshed our site recently as we have just moved to new premises in Waterford city.

At Treo we work with people aged 16 to 23 years of age. Our main aim is to support each person to reduce their criminal activity, encourage & support them make more positive choices and move forward with their lives. This in turn makes Waterford a safer and healthier community to live. We also support the families of service users.

Our Work

We believe that each person is their own expert and it is their responsibility to bring about change in their lives. Our job is to provide support and guidance using a blend of different approaches

Outreach

Each person is brought through our referral procedure which aims to develop a good working relationship, meet initial & immediate needs, but also to develop a plan of action to bring about positive outcomes.

Community Service

Our approach to CS is based on repairing harm & restoring relationships within communities. We have established strong links within local community based organisations that facilitate CS placements.

Programmes

Treo is a QQI accredited centre. Drawing heavily from the list of programmes above, we provide FETAC accredited programmes at levels 3, 4 and 5.This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to gain new skills.

Prison Work

Treo’s Outreach worker visits the prisons in Ireland that hold people aged 16 to 23 who will eventually return to Waterford on their release. An Action Plan is agreed and activated to support that person while in prison.

Community Employment Scheme

The aim of the scheme is to re-engage participants in their community and work life. Participants engage in work experience, education and training programmes.
