At Treo we work with people from 16 years of age. Our main aim is to encourage and support each person make more positive choices, reduce their criminal activity, and move forward with their lives. This makes Waterford a safer and healthier community in which to live.
We believe that each person is their own expert and it is their responsibility to bring about change in their lives. Our job is to provide support and guidance using a blend of different approaches
Each person is met from where they are at. Those who chose are brought through our referral procedure which aims to develop a good working relationship, meet initial & immediate needs, but also to develop a plan of action to bring about positive outcomes.
Waterford City Based Supports
Treo is a QQI accredited centre. We provide QQI accredited programmes at levels 3, 4 and 5.This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to gain new skills.Programmes are tutored by Treo staff & Waterford & Wexford Education Training Board tutors in a one to one or small group setting.
Treo's Outreach worker visits the prisons in Ireland that hold people aged 16 to 23 who will eventually return to Waterford on their release. An Action Plan is agreed and activated to support that person while in prison.
Community Employment Scheme
The aim of the scheme is to re-engage participants in their community and work life. Participants engage in work experience, education and training programmes.
Local Training Initiative
Treo LTI Dungarvan is an excellent environment for young people (aged16-23) who want to further their skill-set by completing an array of modules at QQI level 3. Each learner undertakes this work in a supportive environment which also encourages more positive lifestyle choices.
Renew is a Social Enterprise operating from Treo Port Lairge CLG and was set up to create full-time employment for people that have been distant from the labour market, to learn, train and practice new skills and to experience working in a real time working environment. Renew social enterprise is funded by Pobal.
